This is an excellent article on what goes into the paint we spend so much money and effort with, and a must read for any artists.

Over the years I’ve collected quite a few tubes of paint from several different manufacturers. I haven’t tried them all, just those that I thought would work with my style of painting. I am not paid by any of these paint makers and have no stock in any of their products.
